Wales has now entered the Amber Phase of the pandemic. We are now open on slightly reduced hours and with social distancing measures still in place. This means that we will have a "closed door" and strict "appointments only" policy. Appointments are being made on a "needs basis." This means that we are prioritising all high risk groups (Glaucoma, Diabetes etc) and those with problems either with their eyes, vision or spectacles. Routine eye examinations for patients with no problems are still being delayed until the green phase is reached. We will be slowly getting in touch with everyone but in the meantime, if you have any problems at all then phone us on 01248 724373 \ 750245 or fill in the form on our Contact Us page.
Whilst we are in the amber phase we would politely request all patients wear a mask on entry to the practice and sanitise their hands. If you have no mask then we can provide one for you. Kind regards
Geraint, Jo and Bryan Allport
Welcome to Allport Opticians
Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians
We are an independent family run practice based in Abergele and Llangefni along the North Wales Coast. The practice was originally set up by Sidney Tom Allport in 1948 and over the years we have built on his original philosophy of great customer service combined with the best products available. The practices are currently run by Sidney's son, Bryan Allport and his grand son, Geraint Allport. In keeping with it being a family run business, the workshop is run by his grand daughter, Sian Allport.
We specialise in all areas of eyecare and have leading technology and equipment. We have a Digital Retinal Camera which allows us to take photographs of the inside of your eyes. This enhances the way we check the back of your eyes to ensure they are healthy. We have our own laboratory with glazing technology allowing us to assemble all our spectacles, including rimless and sunglasses to a very high standard. And for the last 12 years we have branched out into Visual Stress (Irlen Syndrome) testing using an Intuitive Colorimeter.
Our patients are important to us and we aim to provide the best possible care for them in a friendly, welcoming environment. With this in mind we are committed to ongoing staff training and investing in the most up to date examination technology.
